Supported Employment

Our Supported Employment Programme is dedicated to empowering individuals with mental illness who are on their recovery journey by connecting them with meaningful employment opportunities.

We utilize the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, which prioritizes rapid job placement and ongoing support.

This supported employment session is catered for peers (persons with a mental health disorder) to provide employment opportunity to peers, in support of their livelihood and reintegration into the community. In addition, to help peers support themselves in various aspects be it financial, physical, spiritual, and psychological and also to provide opportunities for peers to contribute by leading a purposeful and meaningful life.

This 3-day program equips peers with important skills related to employment, namely interview skills, creating CVs/resumes, grooming and applying for jobs through various means. The participants were guided and accompanied by buddies (MIASA staff) to guide and help them throughout the program and also after the program was completed.

By fostering independence and self-sufficiency through employment, we aim to enhance overall well-being and contribute to a more inclusive community. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive, and our Supported Employment Programme is a vital step towards achieving that goal.
